Thierry et ses amis mettent entre parenthèses leur passion pour les deux roues afin de se tourner vers les quatre roues de légende. Chacun achète des modèles d’époque selon ses goûts et envies et font face à des situations cocasses. La bande d’amis écume les musées et brocantes spécialisés pour trouver leur bonheur, au grand dam parfois de leur famille. Quand on est collectionneur, il est difficile de se fixer des limites, surtout quand il s’agit de si belles mécaniques…
Le trio d’auteurs de la série des Fondus de la moto s’offre une bouffée d’oxygène en explorant d’autres contrées après onze tomes. Chaque planche est l’occasion de découvrir une, voire plusieurs automobiles emblématiques, les personnages servant de VRP pour présenter celles-ci. Ainsi on apprend certaines caractéristiques insolites mais un des gags récurrents de l’album est empreint de vérité puisqu’il met en avant la fiabilité exceptionnelle de l’époque en comparaison des voitures produites aujourd’hui. Les auteurs ont fait un travail sérieux autour de ces informations techniques et c’est tout à leur honneur car l’humour fait ici place à l’authenticité de manière très réussie. Cet album s’adresse donc autant aux fanas d’automobiles que d’humour.
Une BD dédiée au « youngtimer » cher à de nombreux français.
