Après avoir vengé la mort de son fils et mis à jour une confrérie secrète désirant étendre son influence sur le monde entier, Aya est restée à Rome pour mettre un terme au règne sanglant de Jules César. Avec l’aide de Brutus, le fils adoptif du despote, elle parvient à porter de rudes coups à son empire par sa maitrise de l’art de l’assassinat furtif. En parvenant à tuer le tyran en plein Sénat, d’autres prennent hélas son relais et menacent à leur tour l’Egypte…

Licence fort lucrative dans le domaine du jeu vidéo, Assassin’s Creed ne parvient pas à se démarquer de la même manière dans le secteur de la bande dessinée. Malgré de nombreuses tentatives des deux côtés de l’Atlantique, et des parutions chez différents éditeurs, la création du studio français Ubisoft cherche péniblement à suivre les divers épisodes sans parvenir à capitaliser sur leur succès. Cet album, qui regroupe deux titres, ne sera pas celui qui changera la donne. En imaginant une suite au hit Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Anthony Del Col ne propose une intrigue très éloignée de l’univers de la saga, qui n’implique quasiment rien de la mythologie naissante autour des Assassins et des Templiers. Le récit, linéaire et monotone, ne vaut que pour la présence de personnages historiques très éloignées de la réalité. Dans Assassin’s Creed: Reflections, c’est encore pire. Ian Edginton compose quatre courts récits assez insipides mettant en scène quelques héros de la série vidéoludique, reliés par un fil rouge aussi absurde que peu inspiré. Les dessins de PJ Kaiowá et Valeria Favoccia sont, eux, tout juste corrects, sans grands défauts mais sans grande qualité non plus. Le travail de commande est ici très clair et ne laisse que peu de place à un travail particulièrement soigné, ce qui est bien dommage.
Un album qui n’intéressera que les amoureux de la saga voulant en avoir un peu plus de leurs personnages.
